Tobacco Free Network
The Tobacco Free Network of Oswego County, established in 1999, is a community-based coalition of health and human services agencies committed to reducing the human and social toll of tobacco use in Oswego County. The Network's efforts are supported by funding from the New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control Program. Locally the Tobacco Free Network utilizes outreach opportunities with residents at community events, interventions with decision makers, and media to achieve the following goals:
- eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke
- decrease the social acceptability of tobacco use
- promote cessation from tobacco use and the NYS Smoker's Quitline
- prevent the initiation of tobacco use among youth and young adults
