Information about FREE Tax Help by IRS Community Volunteers and Tax Credits that could save you thousands of dollars.

If you work and have children these tax credits can put thousands of dollars in your pocket during the upcoming income tax filing season.
You and may be eligible for one or more of the following federal tax credits:
- Earned Income Tax Credit worth up to $4,716;
- Credit for Child and Dependent Care Expenses worth up to $2,100; and
- Child Tax Credit worth up to $1,000 per child.
In addition, New York State offers:
- The New York State Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit worth up to $2,310;
- The New York City Child Care Tax Credit worth up to $1,733, new this year;
- The New York Earned Income Tax Credit worth up to $1,361; and
- The Empire State Child Credit worth up to $330 per child.
Even if you don't owe income taxes, you may be eligible for a refund check simply by claiming these credits on your federal and state tax returns.
FREE TAX Preparation is available by IRS Community Volunteers:
- Oswego: SUNY Oswego School of Business, 118 Rich Hall SUNY Oswego; Saturdays, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM from February 2 to April 15, 2008, excluding March 22 & 29, 2008.
- Oswego: McCrobie Civic Center, Lake St. Oswego; Tuesdays, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, February � April, 2008.
- Fulton: County Workforce Career Center, 200 N 2nd St., Fulton; Mondays, 4:00 to 7:00 PM from February 4 to April 7, 2008, excluding March 24, 2008.
